LKQ Corporation to expand in Nashville
June 9, 2010 – Auto-parts supplier LKQ Corporation will expand its corporate support facility in Nashville, creating up to 230 jobs and adding $1.2 million in capital investment. The Chicago-based company supplies recycled, refurbished and after-market replacement parts to auto repair shops and vehicle dealerships through its 290 facilities nationwide.
The expansion will consolidate LKQ's regional accounting centers, currently located at multiple sites around the country. The company will build out the remaining 15,000 square feet of space in its Grassmere Park facility for a total of 50,000 square feet. Some employees will be transferred from other locations and new workers will be hired for accounting, information technology and payroll jobs.
“We appreciate the level of interest and commitment offered by the city of Nashville and state of Tennessee,” said John Quinn, executive vice president and chief financial officer of LKQ. “Positioning ourselves in Nashville, with its favorable pro-business environment, geographic centrality and great people, makes sense for us.”
The project team included the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Partnership 2010 team, the Nashville Mayor’s Office, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, and TVA.
“TVA is pleased to be on the economic development team to support LKQ Corporation as it grows and creates more quality jobs for residents in Davidson County and surrounding communities,” said John Bradley, TVA senior vice president of economic development.
