Lennox Hearth Products will move HQ to Nashville

Oct. 7, 2009 – Lennox Hearth Products, based in Orange, California, has announced it will relocate its headquarters and R&D operations to Nashville. The company also plans to consolidate its customer and technical service departments in Union City, Tennessee, where it currently has fireplace manufacturing operations.

Lennox makes and markets factory-built fireplaces, stoves, and other hearth products and accessories for the residential market. The relocation will reduce costs and increase operating efficiencies by positioning the various company functions closer to each other. The move should be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2010.

"Given the challenges presented by the economic downturn, especially in the residential new construction segment of our business, we have taken this action to ensure the long-term health of our business and our ability to keep our customers competitive," said Wendy Howells, vice president and general manager of Lennox.

Howells expressed the hope that many California-based employees would choose to remain with the company and move to Tennessee. "The state has a competitive cost of living and many favorable attributes," she said.

"Lennox Hearth Products’ announcement is great news for the company, for Tennessee, and the Nashville area region," said John Bradley, TVA’s senior vice president of economic development. "We are pleased to partner with the State of Tennessee, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development to help Lennox grow and prosper here."

Lennox Hearth Products is a subsidiary of Lennox International Inc., a global leader in the heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration markets.
