Carlisle Tire will bring 400+ jobs to Jackson, Tenn.

July 23, 2009 – Carlisle Companies of Charlotte, N.C., has announced the location of a new manufacturing facility in Jackson, Tenn. The facility will be operated by a subsidiary, Carlisle Tire and Wheel, and the multimillion-dollar investment is expected to create about 440 new jobs by the end of 2010.

Carlisle is consolidating manufacturing and moving production plants from other states and China. It has acquired the former Whirlpool Jackson Dishwashing Products plant, where it will produce tires, inner tubes, and wheels for agricultural, recreational, industrial, lawn-and-garden, and other uses.

“The Jackson, Tennessee, facility affords CTW an ideal location for our new facility, more centralized to our markets, with excellent expansion opportunities,” said Fred Sutter, president of Carlisle Tire and Wheel.

The project was facilitated by Team Madison County, an economic development partnership of the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce, the Jackson Energy Authority, the City of Jackson, Madison County, the State of Tennessee, and TVA.
