Amsino Medical expands Nashville operation
Oct. 17, 2008 — Amsino Medical USA, which makes pre-filled syringes for medical use, has announced that it will double its Nashville-area workforce over the next two years. The minority-owned company has 90 employees at present.
Amsino also announced it will invest $3.5 million on new equipment for its manufacturing plant. Nashville's location as a health-care hub is a key reason for the expansion, according to Timir Patel, chief executive officer.
The syringes are pre-filled with salt or sugar water and used to flush catheters that provide IV medication to patients. Amsino acquired its Nashville operation from Baxter Healthcare three years ago.
Partners on the project include Nashville Electric Service, Partnership 2010 (Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce), the State of Tennessee, and TVA.
