Johns Manville to build Alabama faciiity

Aug. 21, 2007 — Johns Manville has announced plans to open a new $30 million manufacturing plant in Scottsboro, Alabama, where it will create over 100 jobs over the next three years.

A Berkshire Hathaway company, Johns Manville is a leading manufacturer and marketer of building and specialty products. It will manufacture thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing membrane at the state-of-the-art Scottsboro plant. The product is used in commercial and industrial buildings. JM will also offer a full line of insulation and accessories.

Economic development partners on the project included the Scottsboro Electric Power Board, Jackson County Economic Development Authority, North Alabama Industrial Development Association, Alabama Development Office, and TVA.
