Polymer manufacturer to locate in North Alabama
August 27, 2007 — Indorama Polymers Public Company Ltd., a plastic injection molding company headquartered in Thailand, will invest in a new facility in Decatur, Alabama.
Indorama will hire 150 employees for quality jobs with higher-than-average wages. The company, also known as AlphaPet, will co-locate on BP America's site and will manufacture PET polymers used in packaging materials (plastic bottles) for water, soft drinks, energy drinks, tea, and other beverages.
TVA worked with Joe Wheeler Electric Membership Corporation to provide assistance for the project. Other partners included the Alabama Development Office, Morgan County Economic Development Council, and North Alabama Industrial Development Association.
