Cannon Automotive to locate in Kentucky Transpark
May 21, 2007 — Cannon Automotive Solutions Inc., an affiliate of The Electromac Group, has announced that the company will locate its newest manufacturing operation on approximately 14 acres in Bowling Green's Kentucky Transpark.
The $13.1 million investment is expected to create up to 100 new full-time jobs during the first five years of operation. Among products to be manufactured at the new facility are individual component stampings for frames to be installed in the 2009 next-generation Ford F-150 pickup truck.
Partners in the project include Warren Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation, the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce, the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, and TVA.
The Electromac Group, established in 1955 in Windsor, Ontario, is a single-source supplier of turnkey tooling and production of metal stampings for the automotive industry. The company has five existing facilities in Canada and Michigan.
The Cannon project represents the second new location announcement this month for the Kentucky Transpark, a high-tech, environmentally friendly commerce and business park located near I-65. Automotive supplier Howa USA also recently announced plans to locate in the park.
