Murfreesboro, Tennessee, ranked among 100 best places to live

July 18, 2006— CNNMoney.com has ranked Murfreesboro, Tennessee, number 84 on its list of the 100 best places to live in the nation. It's the only city in Tennessee to make the 2006 list.

The cities were ranked based on 38 quality-of-life indicators and six economic opportunity measures. The editors looked for “small livable cities that had the best possible blend of good jobs, low crime, quality schools, plenty of open space, rational home prices, and lots to do,” according to the web site.

The rankings considered economic indicators such as income, job growth, and affordability; quality-of-life indicators such as risk of crime, quality of public schools, space devoted to parks, and incidence of stress-related ailments; and ease-of-living gauges such as commute times, population density, and weather.
