Colgate-Palmolive to build Tennessee plant

Colgate-Palmolive will build a state-of-the-art toothpaste manufacturing facility in Morristown, Tennessee. The company plans to build a 150,000-square-foot plant in the Morristown Airport Industrial District that will employ more than 220 people. Construction is expected to start this spring on the $50 million facility.

TVA’s Economic Development organization played a key role in successfully locating the facility. “TVA is pleased to partner with Morristown Utility Systems, the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce, and State of Tennessee to assist Colgate-Palmolive in locating in Tennessee,” said John Bradley, Senior Vice President of Economic Development. “We congratulate Colgate on this decision and are very excited about the new job opportunities and economic growth in the community.”

Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen said the announcement is a strong endorsement of one of Tennessee’s most progressive and productive communities by one of the world’s most respected companies.

”The jobs created by Colgate-Palmolive in this community will be a major contribution to an already diverse local economy,” the governor said.
